Sangkheum Center for Children

what you can experience

  • Take a tour to learn about the centre, our activities in the villages and the issues surrounding Cambodian children. You can also see students making a variety of handicrafts and practicing their dancing and instruments.

  • Visit our Silk Lab where young, disadvantaged women are trained in sewing and dressmaking, producing silk products for export and sale. The Lab is open Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 4:00pm.

  • Purchase our handicrafts and T-shirts or, for as little as US$50, sponsor a family group at the centre. You will receive information about the children, their background, a photo and regular correspondence as to their progress. For US$30, you can sponsor a student and help them continue or further their studies.

  • Check out our Iron Workshop in nearby Puok District, where disadvantaged young adults create custom-made products for sale. The workshop is open Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 5:00pm.

  • If you are on a group tour, ask your hotel in advance to organise a traditional Khmer performance in the evening at the Sangkheum Center.

  • For individual tourists, we currently perform traditional Khmer dance at several Siem Reap hotels and guesthouses. Call us for locations, days and times.
